Ideal for candidates new to teaching, teaching timetable builds up gradually over the duration of the course. Lessons will be taught alongside or under the supervision of an experienced qualified teacher.
PGCE
Candidates following our Tuition Fee programmes will complete the Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). Our PGCE programme is delivered in partnership with Anglia Ruskin University. PGCE is an academic qualification designed to be studied alongside the professional qualification for teaching (QTS).
The ARU course has been written to boost awareness and understanding of
current educational issues and improve professional practice by using the latest academic research.

Suitable for applicants with school experience i.e. already employed as an Unqualified Teacher/TA.
Schools Direct Salaried
Trainees apply to a training place at a specific school location, having already secured employment at that school.
Postgraduate Teaching Apprenticeship
Trainees apply to a training place at a specific school location, trainee normally already working in the school and have completed Year 1 of the Local Authority Internship programme. Please use these links for further details: Primary or Secondary.
Schools Direct Salaried non- supported route
Suitable for Independent Schools. Trainees are normally already employed by the sponsoring school and apply to the training place at their specific school. NB there is no government funding available for non-supported trainees, i.e. no bursaries or salary grants to schools.
The AO Route does not require candidates to undertake a period of training so if you are successful through selection, you move straight into the assessment process. The assessment period is expected to last no more than one term.
